What I've discovered is that she has really bad foot-in-mouth syndrome and she's a Taurus. So when we first talked it was on her terms. On msn, and I mostly went along with it because I'm learning to be more open-minded about all of this stuff. A big reason why I've been single for so long is because I'm very firm with drawing lines, and I tend to draw them onto the other person's territory. My uncle offered his wisdom to me once, "be careful how far you draw the line, because if you're not careful, you're not gonna have anyone to draw it in front of!"
So I went along with the conversation. By the end of the it, my arms were crossed, there was smoke billowing out of my nose and I just wanted to get away from the computer. She said, "Going to bed already? Okay, goodnight Cinderella."
I decided that she was off the list after that. But she emailed me the next day giving me her phone number. Now she was willing to do things on my terms, since I had already hinted that I'd much rather talk on the phone than over an instant messenger.
I ignored the email.
Two days later she emailed me again,
Hey,
Quick question. Did I say anything on msn to offend you the other day? If I did I am really sorry. I don't always think before I speak/type and I wouldn't want to upset someone if I did say something foolish.
I ignored that one as well.
At least for a couple of days. After awhile I became curious and decided to call her. When we talked, she was SO nervous it was a little ridiculous. She was talking very fast and wouldn't allow a silence to last for more than a couple of seconds. I talked slower and quieter than I normally do, hoping that it would help calm/slow her down. Anyways we only talked for a few minutes, and afterwards I understood her motivations a little better. She apologized again about the msn conversation.
She said she's on the dating website because she's "bored" and because "it's interesting to see how people interact with each other in a sociological and philosophical way." Yeah right. She's on there to find somebody to hold, duh. Pretty much off all of us on dating websites are there to either find someone to have sex with or fall in love with.
Anyways, we emailed back and forth some more and we somehow slipped into the subject of philosophy, where she replied with this:
I didn't think my paper was that impressive but he thought it was risky. I basically said that Aristotle's concept of friendship is not stable and as virtuous as it is often portrayed as and it can become degraded to a degree as to resemble what Kierkegaard refers to as the poetic's preferential love. It means that Aristotle's idea of friendship of virtue remains stable only if the virtue of the other person remains unchanged but if it does alter in any way then the basis of the friendship is lost because it was the virtue within the other individual that was desirable not the individual themselves. This is similar to the poet's version of romantic love because those kinds of relationships are fickle and unstable as well whereas Kierkegaard's version of friendship begins with agape (love of humankind) and then allows for a transition to preferential love. The difference is that Kierkegaard's all-encompassing concept of love never allows the love to become degraded but rather, only more focused within a preferential sense.
I'm not sure if that makes sense to you. It's just a quick synopsis of a 25 page
paper. It really is a fascinating topic if you ever do want to discuss it.
I immediately found her much more attractive. I called her within minutes to probe into her mind and see what kind of intellectual stimulation she had to offer. Turns out, it was a lot. It was one of the deepest, and most satisfying conversations I've had in a loooong time. I'm lucky to have friends that are good at listening, but I do not have many that can put much on the plate when it comes to these kinds of subjects. Fizzled was the last, and our communication was a phenomenal turn on. :)
So yesterday we met for the first time, and in a nutshell, she looked like a sexy librarian. :D I wanted to kiss her, to grab her tits, and to get close to her a lot during the date. But the most I did was put my arm around her seat when we sat next to each other.
Tonight, I might dare to kiss her. There's a theater here that is still playing Avatar in 3D, so our plan is to go see that movie.
---------------------
Still though, there's two more PPs I have yet to see. The little Olympic weightlifter, Amy. And the gymnastics coach, Breman, who's real name is Sarah. O_o Should I call her Sarah #3? This must be the year of the Sarah's for me. Anyways, I really want to at least give Amy another try. I've dated her before and even though we only went on two dates, she's maintained contact with me over the two years that's transpired since then.
The reason I stopped dating her is because I was simultaneously dating a girl who I called Fizzled. And as I mentioned earlier in this blog post, the communication between Fizzled and I was phenomenal. So I fell for her instead of Amy. However Amy is -very- shy and quiet. So I'm a little curious to see what's underneath that shell of an exterior. I want to know if she's frisky in bed, got a great sense of humor, or is a closet intellect or a sweetheart, etc.
Anyways, time will tell how this thread will unravel. Hopefully I'll manage to get some kissing action by later today ;p
Yo, this is a lesson in friendship
The depths of a kinship
What women and men begin with, and then slip
My pen drips
As I scribble my thoughts on thin strips
Of emotion
A fraction, seduction, attraction
Eruption of passion
Corrupts if a lasted friendship's involved
But love to cross the line
But that's why we built these walls
The depths of a kinship
What women and men begin with, and then slip
My pen drips
As I scribble my thoughts on thin strips
Of emotion
A fraction, seduction, attraction
Eruption of passion
Corrupts if a lasted friendship's involved
But love to cross the line
But that's why we built these walls
Yo, no joke. I write letters like Mckenzie (the philo-inspired one... and I totally don't think I agree with her. Kierkegarrd's version of agape is based off of foundational premises that that fall flat on their face!).
ReplyDeleteOh, she's probably a slutty nerd! Slutty nerds have good sex: I should knoW!!!
Yeah Agape... love of humankind? Uhm. Who loves humankind? LOL Sorry I'm grasping at straws, I really know nothing about any of that.
ReplyDeleteBut you're right about one thing. So far it's been very steamy kisses with this sexy librarian girl :)
