AJ the snake

See baby, I know you've had your share of men.

She sits at the front of the bus, and for a second, we glance at one another. Locked in a fleeting trance, she then looks away. We read each other's minds and for a moment, we know we like each other.

But am I to do something?

I smirk as I'm about to let myself be something that I am not normally. I am AJ again, and AJ saunters down the heart of the bus towards the front.

When I arrive, I grab the handle above her seat, and lean over to say, "Mind if I take a seat next to you?"

"Sure", she says meekly.

I take my seat next to her, and I lean over to whisper in her ear. In recalling this moment, every thought in my mind was a blur, and time is obscured. Yet somehow, I spoke clearly, coherently, and with direction. "Do you usually let strangers sit next to you, or am I a lucky exception?"

She just looks at me, and a smile plays across her lips. She says nothing, but her eyes wander down from mine, to my lips, taking a cruise down my body, and then back up to my eyes again. She likes what she sees. I can read it in her expression. I begin to smile uncontrollably, and our energetic vibes bounce off of one another. It's intense, and she looks away, blushing. I take my eyes off of her and look out the window.

Suddenly I am back. AJ has left my consciousness and I am just normal "me" again. I don't know what to do, and I become very self-critical. I think that I'm in over my head. My mind spins, analyzing, trying to figure out what to do.

She speaks, "You know, my friends and I are going out to the music fest tonight. You should come out."

I close my eyes and they practically roll back in their sockets. When I open them again, the world is colored differently. "Sure, wherabouts do you want to meet?"

  1. I like it. It's very... suggestive. My mind went other places other than a music festival. Only a little bit 'over written', like when she looks away after a fleeting glance. Of course she looked away, that's what you meant by a fleeting glance...

  2. Thanks Clarabell. And thanks for the constructive criticism. I could probably cut out some superfluous lines from this.
