The Note (Part 3)

Tonight I was out at Wal-Mart buying a new comforter and stuff for home. While pushing my cart around, I passed a girl a couple of times that was looking at me. Coincidentally I wound up at the same cash register lineup that she was in. She grabbed a magazine off of the rack and looked into it.

I thought to myself, "I need a pen and a piece of paper, NOW." I got out my backpack, pulled out a pencil and piece of paper and got down on one knee. I wrote it out just like the previous note.

______________
(My name)
555-5555
:)
______________

I stood up and she had her back turned to me. She was with a friend, and they were talking. I hesitated. I felt my feet getting cold. My smile faded and I could feel myself getting cemented in place. "Dammit, next time just act right away! Don't hesitate!" I thought to myself, "I need an opportunity."

Before I could put my stuff on the conveyor belt, I needed a little divider to keep my stuff from getting mixed up with other people's. The only one was up where she was, so I walked up and said, "Excuse me, I'm just gonna grab this..." took the little plastic toberlone-shaped thing, and stopped for a moment to hand her the note.

No words were exchanged. I simply held it out for her, she took it (without question), and I went back to my spot in the line. She must have seen it in my right hand while I was getting the divider, because when I gave it to her, she didn't look surprised.
